Weve all agreed in a past cast that limiting will only create snowballing. The special ammo change will cause no different.
When it comes to the nerfs i strongly disagree with redwings statment on being forced to use something else. That is not even close to what balance is. There are too many dedicated pvp players with different playstyles for one thing to be viable at a time. If you really wanted to use other things other things should just be more viable

I say that because I like being forced to try different guns. I hated fusions year 1. Love them now. Hated scouts. Like them now. Without forcing us to try new things the experiences never change. I didn't say I wanted to lose my favorites. I'm referring to more of a general thing.

See the forced philosophy is something I have an issue with. You want to try something new or use different loadouts? Simply go into your menu, go to the weapon of your choice, and put it on. There instant choice made. And you don't have some company making the decision for you. The minute freedom of choice is lost, the minute a game ceases to be fun

I agree with RedWingGirl. The option of just trying out a new weapon has always been there, yet from what we see of the crucible during a meta (which I find usually settles after one month of an update) this isn't the mentality that over half of the community ever take on. The amount of Clever Dragon's, NLBs and Matador's you will find on a fireteam is pretty much the definition of anti-variety. However a weapon balance doesn't particularly "force" you to change but gives you amazing incentive to try some new things. Some people will still go back to those previous "meta" weapons but there is a period of change that is positive. I'd love it if people switched to other weapons more often but I find it so rare.
That's because due to Bungies balancing problems, they force some weapons to be top dog till they change it again. That's why there's a meta, and people will flock to it because it's the best as per Bungies directive. But we shouldn't be forced to compete with the few because Bungie told us to. Take this last clever dragon/matador meta. I cannot stand that archtype of pulse rifle, and thus I won't use it. However unless I use something with a similar kill time, I am at a disadvantage in playing this game because Bungie directed everyone to this weapon as the best (to be fair, streamers are a problem in this) and thus every other option is automatically garbage in a game with a big weapon catalogue.
However a weapon balance doesn't particularly "force" you to change but gives you amazing incentive to try some new things. Use it, or be unable to properly compete in a shooter. It's literally at most a week before the defining gun is up and that's what ends up dominating the game till next patch. It would be great if this game was always in that week period, but sadly it isn't.
I'd love it if people switched to other weapons more often but I find it so rare.
You shouldn't have to if you don't want to, and forcing change is what my issue is. You should have that decision yours alone go try something new. Not have it taken away because of corporate directive to start these meta cycles. I love switching up my secondaries, as I get better with all of them, even though I'm a shotgunner. To me they are fun to use differently. This meta I used the unraveling thread shotty and the occasional PC/m-64/Ct-D. However I also used ashravens/vacancy/Saladins/planC/1k stare/longbow/winged word/wormwood. I made these switches myself, no one made them for me, and as such my other secondary games have improved. What's funny is I believe I sniped more than I shotgunned this meta, but I could be wrong, though I will still say I'm a horrid sniper, I can see really major improvements to my sniping game. On the other hand, I hate being forced to use primaries. I prefer a specific pulse archtype (Nirwins), a select amount of scouts (MIDA mainly), and my finnela's HC. But unless I was using my finnela's full time, I could not compete well against clever dragon. So it was either conform to them, or be at a disadvantage regardless of my choice. That should never be a thing with primaries.

Right, I understand that. However that choice should not be taken out of your hands. If I want to learn how to use an auto and a fusion rifle because I want to learn something new, that should be my decision. I shouldn't be forced to use that auto and fusion because all other options have been turned into garbage by the developer, because the game ceases to be fun. And what happens when you play six months to a year with that auto and fusion, and suddenly they are turned to trash in favor of snipers and hand cannons? This is why I hate removing choice because things cease to be fun. If it ceases to be fun, it won't be played. Everyone has their own, unique playstyle. Nobody should be forced out of that style just because.
