scout rifles were the original primary weapon counter to snipers; however, the high rate of fire pulses are doing better at that than the scout rifles are. Ideally the high ROF pulses would be for medium ranges and the low ROF pulses would be for long to medium long range. Scout rifles should perform consistent at all ranges and be able to be the best primary weapon to combat snipers.
