Just like a number of people who have commented on this post, the factions and their "ideals" mean virtually nothing to me They were only useful to help get to 390 and maybe buy a decently rolled weapon if they were selling them. The factions are just another reminder of how the story and back story/lore behind Destiny was soo poorly portrayed and explained in this game. It's a good thing Bungie know how to make using space magic a fun experience :)
