•Festival returned •Winter event •Possible rehashed raids That seems pretty free to me
Oh you mean the festival that is pretty much exactly the same as last year's? Same quests, same masks as last year? Except last year you could get masks from candy bags whereas this year you have to get them from treasure bags(only 3 free can be earned) that you have to pay for? A year's worth of micros and they can't change the event? Just restart it for everybody? I respectfully request sources on the other two because I've read nothing that would lead me to arrive at that conclusion
It's free. Why complain about free stuff?
inb4 "buh muh boxes drop crap"

So by your rationale just because they reactivated the exact same event from last year we should be grateful? It's not free by any means. Just because they didn't sell FotL as dlc doesn't mean it was free. Micros were suppose to fund the live team in creating new live events and content but if we're getting the same event as last year. What did a years worth of micros pay for? What boxes are you referring to and what "crap" are they dropping?

While FOTL is the same thing as last year, it is free. Plus the SRL winter event won't be the main focus, as there will be a FREE PVE update to surround the whole thing. Did I mention it was free? Anyway they're very vague on exactly what its funding. I blame Activision, personally. We saw how they messed up CoD, and now Destiny. Did I mention how the winter event is free? By the "crap" I'm referring to, everyone only wants the flaming wolf. That's it. While I appreciate all the masks I got from a $15 opening, the general mood of the population is: "everything except the fire wolf is crap *puts $50 more in* aw I got the wolf mask twice this game sucks" TLDR: free stuff by Bungie that's tainted by Activision.

FotL was paid for by microstransactions so it wasn't "free" and it's the same event as last year so what did micros pay for from last October to this October? If they would've come up with new quests, maybe worked something into a strike, came up with different rewards for those quests or anything really maybe then your "free" argument would hold water. Reactivating code that is already in the game doesn't equate to a "new" event(srl included). The answer is there is nothing new. That means bungie has pocketed a years worth of micros and in return gave the community a flaming wolf mask and a broom(that you don't get to keep). You can rationalize it anyway you like but it's quite obvious to a large majority of the community that bungie has not lived up to what they promised. Almost as far to say they flat out lied to the community. They also stated that items bought with silver would only be cosmetic. Which with rep boosters and a high stat roll ghost available that's another lie. Micros made $56 million last year. Do you think it cost that much to reactivate code? That's also not including what micros have made this year. Yes Activision carries some of the blame but that in no way absolves bungie from their part.
