Rise of Iron has given us the opportunity to put many of our favorite Iron Lord's stories to rest. Today we will be discussion Finnala, whose peril was a mark of lordship.
According to "Dormant Siva: Iron Lords 2.4" Finnala did not fear death. The card saying this:
Finnala always says she doesn’t mind dying, because it doesn’t last. A few seconds and then the Light comes, bright and warm. And she rises again.
This could reveal that she was a Sunsinger warlock, since Sunsingers are the only class whom have the ability to self resurrection. Looking through the meaning of the name, I've found more evidence to prove it.
The name "Finnala" means nothing, but "Finella" does. It is the anglicized version of "Fionualla", which means "white shoulder". This doesn't prove my point, but the other part of the name does.
In Irish legend Fionnuala was one of the four children of Lir who were transformed into swans for a period of 900 years.
Notice the swan part. This may be a far stretch, but look at a sunsinger warlock with the perk that lets them freeze in air when they zoom in. They have wings. This is just a far stretch that's a product of little information, so you don't have to believe it.
Edit: It could always just be about respawning, so that's a bit of a stretch. A lot of a stretch.
Little is known about Finnala, except for Iron Lords 2.4. I hope you enjoyed, and have a nice day.

8 回复The Self Res makes way more sense as a Phoenix than a Swan. So much so that the "rising from the ashes wings" come from the Solar subclass, just like a Phoenix is depicted as a bird made of fire... nothing like a swan or reference at all if you ask me

Finnala, Colovance, Bretomart, Nirwen, Ashraven, Deidris, Haakon, Tormod & Weyloran were in fact iron wolves (the second generation), they chose that name as that's what the warlords had originally called the iron lords.

1 回复All classes can resurrect due to the ghost, so not solid evidence honey. But it's the only evidence so I guess it's ok to chalk her up as a sunsinger with a question mark next to her

6 回复U know most birds have wings. Not only swans. Planes have wings too. So finallah was a plane ? JK . Love these background posts.

We should still be able to get year 2 iron banner weapons to drop, like trials bounties still drop year 2 weapons so why can't iron banner? I still wanted to get the year 2 pulse rifle from iron banner but I wasn't lucky..

1 回复I may be wrong but if it was self-res, couldn't she of just brought herself back after the fight with Siva? I think it could just be her ghost bringing her back.

1 回复The way iron lords / guardians resurrect in lore is different than how we do it mechanic wise in game. In lore, your ghost simply brings you back, but your ghost needs cover since it can be destroyed. In game, another guardian has to get you up.

1 回复Maybe it's just me, but the term "self-res" sounds stupid. Can we all call it Fireborn?
-
4 回复Orrrrrrrrrr it could be referencing she didn't care to die because the ghost would revive her with its light. This seems to make more sense.

1 回复I've always noticed the wings when activating radiance, but always pictured it as a phenix rising from the ashes.

2 回复由Shin Malphur编辑: 10/19/2016 6:00:16 AMI also believe she could have been a Warlock, but the only proof I needed was based on that first quote you used.
Finnala always says she doesn’t mind dying, because it doesn’t last. A few seconds and then the Light comes, bright and warm. And she rises again.
Bright and warm, like a solar subclass. Also just from my experience when I play as a Sunsinger I feel like Fireborn gives me Finnala's same mentality, I can just rush in and not worry about getting killed.
