Why are so many Offtopic users jerks?
Why is it that there is a number of posts on Off Topic about trans people (and other LGBTQ+ people), all muslims being terrorists (and stuff about other religions) and just straight up jerks?
Every time I see a post on Trans people I see a majority of people saying things about them having a mental disorder, they should be forced to stick with an identity they are uncomfortable with, etc.
Every time I see a post on Muslim people there is always people that shit talk the entire religion and don't even give the people a chance. Some people say stuff like "I would burn the Quran!" But my question is would you do the same to the bible to another religious artifact or book? (Well maybe if your an Atheist, but at least the majority of Atheists I know still respect peoples choice to religion)
Why are so many people here jerks? I thought that on Offtopic everyone was all nice and was a family that chilled at the buffet and snuck out like 20 plates of food by shoving it into someones backpack or purse.
If your one of the nice people on Offtopic that respect all Religions, think that LGBTQ+ people should be treated equal, and that people should stop being jerks please say something. I'd love to meet you all :)
Also everyone does have a freedom of speech. But can we please keep it civil and just respect everyones choices and be nice to each other?
EDIT: I didn't expect many responses (Seeing that Im not a big Offtopic guy) but wow. Its cool to see who are actually good people on this site. Also I think we are trending, we're like #6. Is that trending? I wouldn't know because I don't follow these forums, but if it is then that means its my first trending post!
EDIT: A lot of cool people. Im not sure if many people agree with me/like me lol

The funny shitposting dried up in 2014 so all it was left with was needlessly contrarian people looking for the shittest possible way to rustle jimmies, and 3 or so 'promonent' users who pioneered the babby's first edgy political opinion meme to the point where everybody followed suit and has been kicking a dead horse for nearly 2 years now.

Most people who believe that stuff about Muslims and trans people are just very narrow minded. They have grown up being taught by their parents that it's ok to dismiss a bunch of assumptions as fact, just cause back when their parents were kids it's how the world viewed these people. Break the cycle, respect others, everyone is human no matter their religious beliefs or sexual orientation. Just cause they are different than yours, not all Muslims are extremists, trans people really are uncomfortable in the body they were born with. Get over it.
