After a month anyway because thats how long it will take a handful of people to get killed with something in pvp then go to the forums and cry about it and then BLAM! Whatever they were bitching about is reduced to something incredibly average and gets stored in the vault rarely to be seen again a la red death.

I use red death all the time. It's a beast still. Recoil is a bitch though but then again so is bad juju's at times... compared to some legendary pulse rifles that have zero recoil and fire faster... it doesn't really make sense to me that they get exotic status but can get out gunned by the legendaries of the same arch type... mini rant over.
