Here's the thing though, if everyone is using the artifact why would you use the dots. I feel like this is something we wouldn't know until the release of the DLC.

What I'm saying is you are currently thinking of the possible most extreme situation and even in that extreme situation we don't necessarily know if the dots will even be a threat because once again, if everyone uses the artifact you probably won't see everyone using the Thorn.
