Rasputin/SIVA stopped the Traveler from leaving. If the traveler left we would be actually okay. The Fallen would follow it. The Hive, Vex and Taken would follow it. And we could have a deal with the Cabal to abandon Mars in exchange of them not attacking us.

The Cabal empire doesn't make deals or abandon their conquests since they are /b/ come to life. The Hive dream of eradicating literally EVERYTHING in existence, so they would stick around to finish the job first. The Vex are trying to make machines out of every planet in order to increase their bandwidth for pornhub traffic. And the Eliksni probably used up all their gas trying to get to our galaxy which is probably why they're drilling the ever loving shit out of our planets.
