Now they need to give us a reason they revived a series that died (kind of) peacefully.

A prequel made by Rod Ferguesson would most likely be good. He was great with handling the Locust. Killing the locust was stupid, especially if they knew they were just going to continue the series anyway, as the Delta Squad vs Locust ordeal was the series' money maker.

We will see how the new generations of gears do compared to their predecessors. Maybe these might dirtier us and be just as good or even better than the originals. Though that is unlikely I have a strong feeling that these won't disappoint

Because there were still stories to be told. I didn't want a direct sequel, I wanted a kind of interquel about some other guys who were off fighting the locust elsewhere while Marcus and his friends went on their adventures. Kind of what Halo Reach did and what Judgement tried (and failed) to do. This is just as good though. There were still stories to be told. This is a story.
