It boils down to what sells and no one cares if they sell garbage or actual loot until the buyers say something. Destiny and anything EA-like it is our fault. Stop buying and they will listen. We love the gameplay. I think for the most part everyone agrees but we need goals and it HAS to be more than junk gear we know will all be tossed aside come next expansion. We need to be compelled for a reason than serious OCD issues.
