Ok the long version.

I became a furry in a quite interesting way... it went something like this. One day for some reason my friend started messing with by calling me a furry, I then yelled at her telling her "I'm not attracted to animals!" Little did I know that that isn't really what a furry is. Her calling me a furry continued for another couple days untill I thought to my self "ya know I don't really know that much about these furries." So I went on youtube and looked it up. That is when I met a man named Leafy, he is a bit of a dick but its kinda funny some times. He did a video of him reacting to a video of some guy explaining why "anyone who thinks furries are stupid is an idiot" it was pretty cringy, but I still did not know what a furry was. So I kept looking and eventually found a video made by a man named Gnoggin, while he is not a furry he surprisingly got his stuff right. This is what really got me interested so I continued looking further and further into the fandom and now about six months later here I am :) Its pretty strange to think that I became a furry because of being called a furry in a negative way.

In my case, Starfox is the short version. Long version is I think I first heard of the community from that clip off 1000 Ways to Die (little did I know it would come to be the worst portrayal in my opinion). One day I discovered some tribute videos related to Starfox (namely Krystal and Fox to a degree). Afterwards I found a website called Krystalarchive.com and they had a criteria for being furry that I just felt I fit. Also saw some legit educational videos on YouTube about the fandom.
