Yup, competitive PvP just doesn't work well in an RPG style game at least not in Destiny's case. If Bungie had much better leadership and the ability to implement it differently then maybe it could work. But in year 1 there were so many guns that were barely useful in PvE that got nerfed cause of the PvP which rendered them totally useless in PvE!
