Driving home from a friend's b day party at midnight after being up since 6 am, and driving halfway across the state after I finished work that day. Woke up in the ditch in the middle of the interstate. Doing 80. It had been raining. Farewell Audi A4. You served me well.

  • no worries, that car was pretty bullet proof. I bounced it off the curb of a 25 mph exit ramp doing 90 once. I got lucky since I didn't flip. Hit the curb so hard I bounced off of it about 5 times, doing a 180 between bounces all the way down the exit ramp. Didn't even mess up the hub bearings. The only reason I didn't save it in the ditch was because I didn't have my seat belt on, and saving it would mean flooring it with the nose pointed at the road, and the car sliding sideways through the mud. One little hole in the grass, and I would have been in trouble. So, I pointed the drivers side of the nose at the catch fence, ducked down when I hit the wires incase one tried to sheer through the cabin of the car (and it did try, didn't make it through the A pillar though), and let her go. Bottom catch wire ripped the oil pan off the bottom of the block, and ripped all the hoses, and fuel lines up under. Car bleed to death within five seconds of coming to a stop. When I got out all I smelled was antifreeze, oil, and gasoline in the grass. Had to walk down the road a bit to light a cig.
