I don't understand how anyone can get upset for using a perfectly good gun you had to work your ass off to get for any reason.

The fact you can receive it from a legacy is a disappointment, along with all of the others. What an excitement it was to finally finish that hellish quest. That doesn't take away from it being an exotic. A special weapon with one of a kind perks.

How was it a waste? We had the gun for an entire year. If someone told you when the game came out, "hey, you can either do this easy ass bounty for thorn or wait a year to have a chance at it from an engram," would you not have done the bounty?

The bounty was not a waste. Working through that horrendous quest was one of my favorite times in year one. It's just a disappointment everything completed in year one was kicked to the curb like it never happened and left behind. I have yet to find a year two weapon I enjoy as much as year one. Thorn, is the burn over powered? I don't think so, it's my opinion only though. Should you be able to three shot someone in the chest, arm or foot and they die. I'm fine with that as it's the point of the perk. No one seems to complain shooting thrall with it. Now someone brings it into PVP and all of a sudden we have an issue with it. I did numerous times from Thorn in IB, ok I'm fine with that. The point behind the exotics is to set a weapon or armor apart from the rest. You remove the perk and it just becomes another hand cannon as we have seen from the year two exotics, which suck in my opinion.

Thorn just gives you bonus damage at no cost. Tell me how that isn't overpowered. Imagine if a scout or a pulse rifle had the thorn perk, it would be awful. No weapon should have bonus fire rate or damage unless there is a cost.

It's an exotic it's supposed to be special, that's the point. The argument year 1 is over is about as pertinent as anything. At no point was year one items supposed to be removed, which they pretty much have. So many of you are burning people for the guns that work. I say good for them.

I never said remove thorn. I never said remove year one weapons. What I said was that granting bonus damage AT NO COST is overpowered. Take crowd control for example. It's not overpowered in any way, because it doesn't last long and you need a kill in the first place. Or the touch of Malice. You gain bonus damage and ammo at the cost of your health. The reason thorn and the last word are so good in pvp is because they have a higher kill time that most weapons due to their exotic perks being bonus fire rate and or damage
