Saying you love someone doesn't mean you actually love them
Christians seem to have this idea in their heads that, because the Bible tells them they have to love everyone, they do. Fine. Great. I just want you people to know that saying "I love everybody" doesn't mean anything. Literally anyone can say that. How do you show your love for all 7 billion people on this planet?
My favorite is when Christians say they love gays too, even though in their heads, they believe that gays will be tortured in Hell for all eternity.
Anyways, Christians: please stop pretending to love everyone. Thanks.

6 回复My favorite is when people say god loves everyone and so he gave us free will. Except that he still sends people to hell. There is also that time he flooded the planet because people didn't act in a way he liked. It's not exactly free will if you use fear of punishment to then try to dictate our actions anyway. Very "loving."

2 回复The entire point is to treat everyone how you'd want to be treated. I'm sorry that you've dealt with Christians like that before, but we're not all like that. And please, if you could just stop pretending to know all about this when you don't, that would be great.

But it continues, seeing as how they think burning in hell is an acceptable punishment for being gay. How many Christians do you know that say "well, I don't agree with what the Bible says about gays, but the rules are the rules"?

6 回复We strive to "love"everyone but that isn't the right word. I would say sympathize is a better word and we try to extend this to others and accept them no matter their differences and if they accept, we will gladly teach the gospel to them. Please don't discriminate and say all of Christianity is how you described it. In my church (and many others I have seen) the people are nice, friendly and genuinely interested in others. They really care about me and you could probably even say they "love" me and my friends who I invite. [spoiler]sorry for the grammar I typed this in a rush lol [/spoiler]

I'm an atheist, but I believe an example of true Christian love and forgiveness can be seen by the example set by those who attended the church in Charleston that was attacked. They forgave that boy after he killed their fellow Christians.

1 回复Saying I love everyone is like saying you don't hate anyone in reality. They can't love 7 billion people it's near impossible but if they meet friends or strangers they are always kind to them no matter who it is.
