A fireteam can be you and another friend, doesn't have to be a 6 man. An activity can include any of those you listed. It doesn't include going into the orbit or just visiting the tower. However I never received this email or offer.

FYI... I ended up doing Court of Oryx with a friend and I did get the weapon today from the postmaster. It was a 300-light Sawtooth Oscillator with bad perks, so I tried to infuse it into one of my good weapons. It wouldn't recognize it. I then noticed the gun could be reforged, so I did so, trying to salvage it into something usable. However, the reforge cut the light down to 160! ARRRGGHH!!

It was sent on 1/15 with the subject line: "MAXBattle, easily earn a 300 attack weapon!" Body art says, "The Vanguard Recognizes Your Potential... Utilize this assistance to strengthen your guardian." It then includes the Challenge, Deadline and Reward. Perhaps it is because all three of my characters are straddling right around 300? I'm mainly a PvP player, though I'd love to get in on raids or the like.
