An option to stop DoT
Thorn. Grenades. Melees. I agree that DoT has no place in PvP if there is no way to stop it. What if we can stop it? I do believe we should be able to do something about the DoT of some grenades. They either do a lot of damage or they last too long. A lot of people still complain about Thorn. I think Destiny should have a way to stop an attack's DoT. I remember playing a game where you can actually do this by shaking your controller. I think it's kind of dumb that you are burning and you can't really do anything about it.

Burn is a staple of a whole class. While annoying it is really what makes you hate to play that class. Singer is not very effective without DOT imo. Don't have a big power move to back you up. They can't really evade and their jump is laughed at by most lol. So how about we find out what attracts players to this type of damage. For weapons it is obvious I think. Probably not great with aiming or like to get easy kills. I chose bad juju instead of thorn year one. I didn't care about burn and still don't enough to change my play style. One thing I find works for me is to fight back. In my experience running makes you easier to hit and you have a higher chance of dying. These people are looking for easy kills, don't be one. I always duck into coverage. I will hover a door with a shotty or shoot back in a random manner if far. If you know your dead commicazi. I remember the people that fightback to me more and I have been killed many times by someone that should have ran. Look at this fail. Most would say I could have ran and should have. I say I almost got that stupid storm caller lol. Also I use solar because of the massive damage I can do while blocking off areas. I can use this to defend or attack. IMO people fighting back are the ones that stop me most often. Even in the clip I am showing how I attack rather than run. Also the only guy that attacked is the one that killed me. 2 回复You can run away from it. Thorn can only be used in norm crucible, it tickles in trials if used. The only burn you will have to worry about would be hammer Titan melee, incendiary grenades, and sunsingers, here is the bottom line, when I start burning I fall back to my other two teammates, and I cover them from the back until I have recovered. I expect them to do the same, if we are week enough they are going to die, we make towards a location we can be easily picked up. No matter what happens, you are not an official speaker for competitive multiplayer. You saying that it does not belong in competitive gaming is irrelevant, I've seen it in halo 3 incendiary grenades, wow, stwor, Hearthstone, there are plenty of games that have dots, and if you try to say fps games, we could take out the ones that have flamethrowers in them. For the guy attacking supreme butthurt, you are wrong, he was summoned. There is no way you can make a post trying to act as though you speak for competitive multiplayer in general not having a certain mechanics this game has without having to get annoyed by said mechanic.

DoT is actually quite an interesting mechanic, you can force some good decision making...e.g for for the kill but higher risk of dying, or hide like a pussy. In trials it's really good...although the old school thorn was too much!

This post was simply fueled by disappointment from a lost match i presume. Don't speak for us either, not everyone believes DoT has no place in PvP.

3 回复Ridiculous. Be glad you don't burn to death instantly or die from poison instantly. You should be glad you recover from that, that's what the DoT is. Otherwise... Insta-Death.

5 回复Never going to happen. DoT is critical to this game to make it successful. It's also in the sci fi genre like Star Wars. If my Titan, hunter, or warlock hits you with a ball of fire you should burn. If you don't then what's the point of having a solar or void subclass? Hell why don't we just change the entire formula of the game to model it after call of duty for your convenience simply because you can handle a view deaths.
