Do ppl not read the weekly updates? Bungie clearly stated that SRL was a beta test and if they get good feedback from the community, it could "possibly" return in the future.

How do you figure it was the majority? Because ppl bitched about it on the forums? You fail to realize that the vast majority of the player base do not frequent this forum. The ones that complain on this forum about everything are largely outnumbered.
