the Thorne is TLW/Rose enveloped by darnkess. (edit) after reading the newer grimoire cards I stand corrected. maybe more first curse cards will bring some clarity to the whole story in the future.

No. TLW was wielded by Jaren Ward who was killed by Dredgen Yor. Yor then instructed Ward's ghost to give TLW to Shin Malphur. Dredgen Yor wielded another gun called Rose. When he fell to the darkness, Rose was corrupted and transformed into Thorn. Years later, Shin confronted Dredgen and killed him with TLW.

Last I recall (havn't really read thru the cards in awhile. they really need to add the grimoire into the damned game...) it was assumed/hinted that Jaren Ward was the guardian that later became Dredgen Yor.

It's still unclear who Dredgen was before. Shin referred to him as a stranger and not by name when he first came through town. Jaren Ward became Shin's 3rd father. He died a hero in the showdown with Dredgen.

After reading the grimoire, I believe they are different guns. There was a showdown between Jaren Ward and Dredgen Yor, each using their respective weapons. They couldn't have existed at the same time if one is the other
