I found it to be funny. I haven't laughed while reading the weekly updates, but that one provided. A lot of people seem to take those very seriously. I'm assuming only the hardcore players read it each and every week.

Except that isn't hardcore its smart. Do you watch or read the news where you live? Something could happen outside your door and you wouldn't even know. Just because people care doesn't mean they are "hardcore" it means that they actually give a shot about this game . What if they put in a weapon you have into the delete list? You would have never read it and come on the next day "Wtf bungie my favorite gun is gone . I hate you why would you do this wah wah wah!" And there would be me under the post laughing because you didn't read the news. If you care enough about the game you will read the news.

Only the people who care enough about this game will actually go to the website or their handheld device and read the updates. It's meant for the hardcore player. The player that has invested a large chunk of their time into Destiny. Not the once in a while when I have time player. Those players are the weekend warriors. You know those players stuck with 1800 grimoire score. I can't speak for them because I don't know their case. Most players who frequent this forum will most likely have read the updates. It's not about being "smart". It's there for everyone to read. It addresses the issues that people on the forums have complained about, therefore putting it in the updates. What would you do if there were no forums? The only updates from them you'll have are the patch notes. Which are way more important than some words talking about an issue they'll address in the next game update.

I don't get what you're trying to say. The causal player does not care about the patch notes or the updates. My friend is a casual player and he doesn't read about the patch notes or the weekly updates. He only plays whenever I am on to help him. He couldn't care less about the updates. There is a difference between him and I. I read the updates and patch notes, he does not.
