What people fail to connect in a lot of cases is that its a super vs a super. First of all, someone is going to be getting obliterated, that's the point of supers, weither its you, you and a buddy, you and a stranger, or your entire team, someone is gonna get blown up at some point.
Secondly, Golden Gun can 1 hit any guardian not in a super, I'm confident we are all aware of that from Year 1. But saying a HoS titan is the only one who can survive 1 shot from Golden gun is wrong. Defenders using their bubble, which is their super, could survive 1 Golden Gun bullet, and this has been around since Day 1. In both cases it would take 2 golden gun shots to kill a titan in their super. Now the difference is that HoS is much more offensive while still being in their super, but health regen on kills is not really that much different than instant overshield for walking in and out of their bubble.
Is HoS overpowered? Well, I think all the supers are over powered, which is the point of a super. If you face one without your super you will die unless the other person messes up. The idea of Golden Gun not 1 hitting every guardian in their super is not new, it was the exact same with defender all of year 1.

Thanks for the feedback. The point I'm trying to make with the Golden Gun is that Bungie said a long time ago that it is intended to be a one hit kill weapon. The only reason I brought it up in the post is because it doesn't feel like it's what it's designed to be anymore.

I would hazard a guess that Bungie meant Golden Gun would be a 1 hit weapon against normal players. Is is evident from Day 1 that it does not penetrate supers as shown by the defender bubble. I think it is the combination of high armour and the super that is blocking a 1 hit kill, much like the super of defenders blocks a golden gun shot.

The main problem, and I've said this all along, is that (from my own experience) a single hammer can be thrown by a Titan at me when I'm using my GG, that single hammer will kill me outright. Bare in mind that I focus my subclasses to have the highest armour stat. Now turn the tables the other way. A Titan, with their super active (HoS) can survive a GG shot. Why is it that a Titan has more hammers and the ability to one shot a guardian even when using any super and we can't one shot them with the GG? It just seems biased in my view.

I have noticed that not all classes have the same amount of armour, even when you max it out. For example, a titan maxing armour will have more than a hunter maxing armour, but the hunter will have more agility than the titan if they are both trying to max that. Warlocks strongest stat is recovery, they have the highest recovery in the game when they choose to max that. Now, that said, it isn't a large amount more, it's like the tiniest sliver, but still, it is not the same. If any changes were to be made I think it should be the aoe damage of the hammers, not the direct impact. There is no comparison between which is easier to hit between Golden Gun and Hammers of Sol, Golden Gun is much easier to score a direct hit. If titans were forced to score a direct hit for a kill, they would be much weaker, since they are pretty hard to hit.
Now turn the tables the other way. A Titan, with their super active (HoS) can survive a GG shot
To figure out how it is possible, just plug in some static values. Say a golden gun shot does 125% damage to normal guardians, 110% damage to all other supers. HoS gives titan a 20% increase in armour, so that 110% damage in the super is lowered to 90%. Conversely, a hammer deals 125% damage to all normal guardians, 100% damage to all other supers. No other class gains as much armor as a titan in HoS, so where they might gain 10% armour, that 110% damage they take, is lowered to 101%, which is still a 1 hit kill. I don't think it's the amount of damage that the supers are outputting, I think it's the amount of armour the titans gain, compared to the other classes, and combined with their naturally (slightly) higher armour. Now the values I used there were 100% made up, but I used them to show a scenario where what is happening makes sense.
