Ok, I noticed you consider The Taken King too expensive. An option would be to buy the Expansions separately until you can afford them all... It will be more expensive in the long run, though. Without The Taken King you're locked out of so much content (including [i]good[/i] storytelling), and even if it's double the price of the other Expansions it comes with several times the content. This is the business model Destiny uses, and it will likely continue like this... But it's your decision. I agree it's expensive.
