Nothingness, though, in physics is not bound by our physical laws and can create energy from nothing as seen with Hawking Radiation. Such energy may manifest itself in ways such as creating a new universe (Big Bang?), star formation, or the creation of a spirit. We do not, by science's general consensus, have souls while alive, but there is a possibility of dying and having a soul be formed from the nothingness.
