Any reason because that's TWO months of still dealing with bs

Same thought I had. Makes zero sense that they would wait two months for something that they clearly state needs to be changed in the game. The article claims they have tested all of these changes extensively, which means the coding already exists. Happy for the changes, but two months with an admittedly broken game = meh.
