How about this, Mark of the Devourer drains super energy from guardians(draining light) but keeps DPS on Aliens of the Darkness.

It doesn't need a nerf. It's too easily countered by any of a host of restorative perks and abilities, not to mention smart use of cover. If the thorn is nerfed, the last word needs to lose its buffs.

No this gun fires to fast it's ridiculous it only can be beaten by last word and closer ranges unless the user sucks the only way to beat it is to outplay or use it as well i however prefer to outplay

Why not buff auto rifles instead? I mean there are only a handful of guns that can even compete with the Thorn, so why not bring back the old Suros, or make the auto rifles now a days, the ones brought in from PoE, stronger or anything to make other guns actually have a chance against some of the exotics that are dominating PvP. As it stands Bungie made a horrible decision in nerfing auto rifles twice, since they're practically useless in both game types, and it really saddens me since i got this game last Easter or so, and I never really got a good feel for auto rifles.

Ok my mate's and I were thinking of a good idea about the thorn. We all no bungie is most probably not going to nerf it but there is a way to make it less op. My biggest problem is when I get shot by thorn I will never back away and 90% of the time I will kill the user but the burn will kill me after. What I was thinking if u kill the user the burn can instantly stop? This will give u more of a reason to keep on pushing for the kill instead of being hit once and then legging it!!.

Thorn does not need a nerf. what they need to do is take the stability back to its original state, and stability perk. leave the range so we can not cross map. but by nerfing the stability, AKA increasing recoil we will effectively reduce the number of EFFECTIVE thorn users in PvP. Tbhis is one of the ebst exotics and strongest in the game. AND ANYONE CAN GET IT. AND LEARN TO USE IT. exotics should be guns that make the user earn the op effects. suros should not have shit tons of stability if it heals you, same with red death. same with thorn. When bungie reworked thorn and gave it a major staility upgrade eeryone and their mother started using thorn to crit hit in crucible. then they reworked al hand cannons in an effort to effectively nerf thorn wh=hich did not work because thorn still has high stability and good range if you run the stability perk. If people want to be able to 2 burst or 2 ahot people they they damn well better learn how to control the recoil and account for the wepon, in order to do it. we dont need everyone using thorn, it eliminates other exotics from game play and aggravates everyone including other thorn users. SUM: Take Thorn back to its orginal kick and recoil, leave the current range, so we cannot cross map snipers. this will effectively weed out the people who just barely are able to use hand cannons and get unfair kills with thorn, and will ALSO REDUCES the number of people who are able to EFFECTIVELY Thorn glitch to 2 shot you in crucible. If unskilled players can not hit the target then the target can not be crit hit on the first bullet nor will the dot hit bc the bullet missed. i Please BUNGIE I know you can not directly track and ban people for using the Thorn exploit but for people who really have been using thorn since before the very first exotic tweak, it is offensive and degrading to our skill that you have made such a powerful gun 1 so easy to aquire and 2 so easy to use/ Then not fix major player exploits with the gun. suh as the final round damage on the first roound explloit.

Doesnt fix the fact that they can 2 shot kill faster than most other guns then run away.
