What is "year one"?
So, i read on the armor when you ascend it, its says until year one. Does that mean i have to ascend it again on a certain date (like bungie day, new years, etc), or nothing happens? And also with the exclusive year one emblem, how long does that last until?

Bungie hasn't announced specifics for how leveling gear and weapons work going forward, just know that when you ascend gear now, its the maximum value that can be attained in "Year One" of Destiny. Emblems are just like diamonds, they last forever.
