I have never seen so many people expect a game company to just give them free shit instead of having to earn it. I, for one, am happy to see a game that has ongoing support instead of something that is sold and dropped. This is not just a FPS, it's an MMO, but I guess the regular FPS players who flock from CoD have no idea what realistic expectations should be.

Sure each character doesn't have it's own individual name, but there is character progression, questing, guilds, grind for gear, dungeons, and raids, which are all derivative of an MMORPG. And honestly, what makes Destiny so unique as an MMORPG is it's FPS gameplay, which is less common in this genre. Examples include: -WoW (think of HoW as a patch and TTK as a new WoW expansion, and also consider that Destiny is providing an expansion about twice as fast as Blizzard usually does) -Diablo III -Elder Scrolls -Final Fantasy -Guild Wars -Star Wars the Old Republic to name a few.

No I see what you are getting at. I really do... To me though I never got that from Destiny... I never felt the mmorpg vibe from it.. It was almost there for me.. But it was missing details that are in any other rpg or mmorpg... It has a progression system, bounties (which are sad quests)...a main story ... Well... Kinda... Anyway it's missing elements for me... I missed: the villages or towns... Npc interaction... Story...lore The sense that I am I the middle of a struggle... An actual mmorpg open world or worlds... In my experience mmorpgs have a LOT of content.. Destiny just doesn't... Destiny is missing too many mmorpg elements for me to say it's an mmorpg imo... That being said, it is an extremely fun game with a lot of potential.. I hate that things have turned out the way they have for this game and bungie..
