The fact that you spent so much time putting together what seemed like a logical point only to just throw bashing comments at the end makes me kind of disappointed.
Let me put it quite simply, you're wrong.
Bungie did not have to even offer you anything here today, but they created a special day in which they celebrate the players and this time around, did so by creating a two month challenge with an in-game reward at the end. The fact of the manner is quite simple here, you're complaining that you don't want to buy DLC. This in simple wording puts you in the same boat as the people complaining on a weekly basis about not being able to do the strikes because they don't own the DLC.
This is a constantly evolving game, and it relies heavily on the content that is continually added to update it, if you're not going to buy the new content then you are not entitled to anything it pertains. And just to reiterate this entire post in a single sentence that makes it easy for everyone else, you're acting like an entitled kid who is mad because they have to spend money to get a few pixels.
FYI, you need to own both DLCs to play TTK anyways.

lol Bungie doesn't HAVE to make it's largest benefactors anything. Absolutely correct. Just like all the Day one players didn't HAVE to show Bungie support by Buying their game. Just like people who were not happy with the lack of content in Destiny did not HAVE to buy TDB or HoW even though they were (let's be honest) lackluster content releases. It's all about support for many Day 1 players. We were here when Destiny was new, not guaranteed, and got horrible reviews. We stuck with you, and offered advice on how to make your game better. We did so many things we didn't HAVE to do, and for it all, we get an emblem that anyone who buys the game by September 1st can easily obtain. Quite honestly, just get rid of all these 'rewards.' If your most 'loyal' fans are getting the same 'rewards' and content as everybody else, then why even bother calling it a reward? I think the only 'gift/reward' we have ever gotten is the Legendary engram from Christmas. Anybody who had played up until that point got one, plain and simple, no silly strings attached, no 'oh it's because you're legendary.' Just a simple 'Thanks for playing the game, here you go.'

Agreed. And wtf do people play if they don't have the dlc's anyways? Lol the most recent ones are starting to get stale so I couldn't imagine not having either. (Plus everyone's going to have the emblem anyways so it won't even be "cool" to have).
