I think the Divine Comedy was covered in ODST`s story. Was Dante not part of The Crusades? From the little we've seen I feel theres more parrallels to the Crusades than the 7 circles of hell (again, covered in ODST) - the one city that every one is trying to get (possible reference to Jerusalem) and the knights (possible reference to the knights templers) protecting it. They certainly seem to all be related in some way anyway. Pretty cool how Joyeuse popped up too, which I said might happen in the geomancy thread - TOOT!

I thought ODST was a the decent into Hell, i was trying to make the connection to the seven layers of heaven, but I am totally open to any and all ideas. Did some research and Charlemagne both man and myth is though to inspired the crusades, so perhaps there is something to it. or was there something else you were thinking?

Just did a bit of reading and apparantly the part your talking about is the 3rd part of the poem - heaven [which you said in the OP - derp!] Would make alot of sense if they continued that aspect into Destiny. Also, was trying to find a link between Dante and the Crusades - In the game Dantes Inferno he died during the third Crusade (The Kings Crusade) - not sure if it follows the original story though.
