If I recall he could have done a lot to halt the aids epidemic but because of his fear he stood back and did nothing while thousands died from the disease. In that respect I do not see him as a good president. I know that's an extreme example but it's one of the reasons I don't really care for him

Yes you can still do stuff for them, I've met a couple people who have it and yeah they have to be on a drug regimen but it still beats being dead. Also I'm not even talking about just the treatment there is a lot of stuff you can do to prevent it from happening though if he helped to raise awareness about the disease I'm sure it would have saved a lot of lives and even if it didn't at least then he could say that he at least tried. If he at least tried to help I think I would like him a lot more

I'm just looking for a president who helps the people of the United States when his power is needed and doesn't turn his back on them when they need the president most. As president, Reagan had the power to do something about the epidemic but decided to remain silent. So a proactive president would be nice
