Right. Because there is no proof. So how is the not believing in a thing considered a faith? If anything I would think Agnostics fit more into that because of the belief in a higher power without subscribing to a religion. Faith is the belief in something without tangible proof. I believe atheists can have faith in something but the I don't see how atheism itself is a faith.

Being an agnostic does not mean you believe in a higher power without subscribing to a religion.

You're missing the entire point of a faith. Faith does not need proof because to have faith in something it must be impossible to prove or disprove. Not believing in Santa requires no faith. It only requires a quick look at the North Pole on Google maps to see he isn't there. They don't have Google Heaven. The existence of a higher power, or lack thereof, is unprovable and this is subject to faith.

The religious have a belief. That's their faith. Atheists don't believe. So where is the faith? There's a lack of belief in a hypothesis. If an atheist says they don't believe in God there is no faith. If an atheist says there is no God then that would be faith. One is stating a fact. The other is an assertion.

An atheist believes there's no deity or higher power of any kind. It must take a lot of faith to be certain there is nothing bigger than yourself, no power that you don't understand, no deeper meaning to life. To be sure there's nothing. To have not even the slightest bit of doubt.

Atheism is not saying "God does not exist". Atheism is simply not accepting the statement "God exists". I can choose not to accept the statement "God exists" without taking any stance on the statement "God does not exist".

Yup. Pretty much. The evidence is too conflicting. How can there be a God with all those rules like a petulant child. Evolution and big bang have some good ideas but who/what started that process along? Too many questions and Noone can answer them to my satisfaction.

Well let me explain then....faith is believing something without sufficient evidence, atheism is the lack of a belief because there isn't sufficient evidence. A big difference between the two. If you can't see that I just don't know how to help you.
