I look at it the other way around. When you're getting 2 points per score and end up with around 100 points, that just makes scoring unexciting, as it's almost expected on every possession.
You're kidding right? Hockey typically had more than that! Ever seen soccer? Those are boring games. But for hockey and soccer it makes each goal more rewarding. TV can make any sport boring but seeing an NHL hockey experience in real life is a different level. Especially playoffs!
Sure but you're judging it the wrong way. Any sport can be boring on TV, soccer especially. But hockey is a sport where almost everything can be enjoyed, and it's on ice. I can appreciate hockey for many of its wonderful and exciting aspects, especially when a rivalry and competition is involved.
