The first trailer had me iffy. The second trailer... Less so. It looks better now. I was always one of the Expanded Universe people anyway, so for me it's more disappointing that it wasn't about someone like Thrawn (who they definitely could've ran with as a character/plot), but it does look entertaining at least.

Thats good to hear that a proper fan sees some promise in the trailers :D Word on the street is that they aren't going to follow the Expanded Universe, instead doing their own thing. The good news is that they are bringing back some original script writers for #8 and possibly #9

Yeah, the previous expanded universe has been kacked past Episode VI. The stuff early in the timeline (Knights of the Old Republic, Darth Bane, etc) are unlikely to change though. They're off on their own right now, and everything from here on out is being regulated better so there weren't so many contradictions. The writers I don't know about.
