Even if you're waiting for someone to round a corner you should only only be there for a couple seconds before moving on. If you're covering a specific area with a sniper you should still be strafing to make yourself a harder target.

That's why you have a negative k/d. Not trying to be an asshole, but standing still and sniping will always get you killed eventually. Just try to work on it. Once you get the hang of it you'll be proud with the results.
