I did some checking on this gun against my word of crota and a fatebringer and my completely un-leveled Venation III was doing more damage on critical shots than both those raid guns fully leveled or almost fully leveled. Never realized that gun was so awesome.

True, for me though I can't get Fatebringer so I'm running with Word on all 3 of my characters. Of course I was still surprised to find that both Raid hand cannons are matched or outdone by a completely un-leveled Venation III. It just doesn't make any sense to me that Bungie would make what are supposedly some of the hardest weapons in the game to get so weak.

Fatebringer definitely isn't weak. While there are a number of weapons with 331 attack that will do more damage per shot than FB, the mag size and Firefly perk still makes Fatebringer an arguably better weapon. Word of Crota is an entirely different story. I got it after I had already been using FB, and the only time I really run it is when the Nightfall has Void Burn. Really disappointed with WoC.
