Set and enforce your own standards. If something does not meet your personal standards or ideals, you now have tools to remove such posts and such members from your sight. As a result, your experience will continually improve as you put more effort into your own personal Bungie.Net.

Okay, cool. I understand. Excellent. So how how do we as members and employees attract new members that are looking for that "good experience" and keep them? One thing that comes to mind is that suppose a parent surveys this site for the first time to review it so as to consider whether to let their child or teenager be a member and visit this site. Sure it is up to the parent to do their parenting duties. If I saw this site for the first time and saw a thread that had nothing to do with say, "Destiny", and saw something questionable, whatever questionable might be to me or them, the first inclination might be to say, "No way", to said child or teenager. Even an adult might say no way for themselves. I do know some of this starts with me and what I post or choose not to post. How do we pass this on to others? Are we already doing this here?

Anytime a member uses Mute/Hide the action is collected and evaluated by automation. Who filed the report, who was the report against, what are the past reprt histories for both, how reliable have their reports been and how accurate have reports against them been. It all gets processed. And that is the hide/mutes that use "no reason". The pre-ddefined "bad reasons" are set to get automatic express lane clearance when filed as they are offenses that our hosts don't want to encourage and prefer to remove ASAP. So you, me, the person above you, the one next to you, and thousands upon thousands of others are crowdsourcing this problem. Each in their own way based on their own standards. Every time they do, they get an immediate improvement and result in what they see (or no longer see) and a cummulative effect when their actions are combined and evaluated as part of the community as a whole.

To be sure... I've hidden a few posts just because I don't like the content- like a post that did the 'has no title' trick or one that wouldn't have broken any old rules but was just flat out disturbing. But the posts aren't necessarily anything really bad. Does this mark me as 'unreliable' then? Just curious.
