First...it was the Seventy's....just after the Sex freeing 60's introduction of the "PILL". It was not uncommon for a woman (complete stranger) to walk up to you and ask you to come home with her. Here's the thing.....it is important to just say something, just about anything will do. If she is interested she will respond favorably to you. If she is not into you ...almost nothing will work (except appearing rich---even that does not work all the time). It is important to appear confident--- BUT, not over bearing and pushy. Generally, I don't give a shit attitude ( to a mild degree) works good here. I "DATED" from the age of 12 to when I finally got married at the age of 58. I have stories that even I don't believe happened sometimes. But, being a Bouncer and Body Guard did help in so many of my hook-ups. Looks are not everything, but you need to appear fit and confident. These pointers will get you started.....but you need to refine them to fit your own style. I hope this helps.
