They are still going to be amazing and probably still the best weapon class for pvp, they will just, you know, shoot more like a hand cannon and not a sniper rifle

Yeah, it will just be a matter of where they draw the line. Like, I'm ok with only hitting someone all the way on the other side of Skyshock 1 out of 3 times. But if I have to start running across Rusted Lands to hit someone at the far end, it's going to be a problem. (And yes, a sniper rifle should nail both without any trouble.)
