New Mexico bans people convicted of drunk driving from buying Alcohol

Too restrictive on someones personal liberty or a good way to stop drunk driving? Personally I have concerns about how effective it would really be, basically this law would turn people who can't buy alcohol into underage college students, if they want to get alcohol they would just need to get a fake license, have someone buy it from them, go to a party where alcohol is served, and any other way someone who can't legally buy alcohol can find ways around it.
