Do share, why don't you use them? And I'd rather have more specific reason than "I don't like them" (which is a valid reason ofcourse), because I'm curious why don't you like them.
Thank you!
EDIT: Typo, and thank you for feedback. :p

1 回覆I love invective in pve. But otherwise the risk/ammo/damage-potential just isn't worth it. But after the update? UR and Spear for days xD

1 回覆I find fusion and sniper rifles to deal a larger amount of damage. In strikes, it's not like you can just go up to Phogoth and shotgun him to death.

由Gyer編輯: 2/11/2015 12:57:58 PMRisk vs Reward. There is NO benefit in using a shotgun in PVE, because you could just as easily have taken out the enemy at a safe distance with a scout rifle or sniper. But to use a shotgun you need to go in close, and that is just suicidal - imagine trying that against a yellow mob in a Nightfall with Lightswitch in effect....

2 回覆I actually rocked the Invective a LOT during the Vault of Glass days, finding it one of the most useful guns. I ran it as a Defender Titan most of the times, and these are the situations where it came in handy: Defending the Pillars: if I was out of Rocket ammo to take out the Praetorians that came from the portals, I´d throw my Magnetic Grenade at them. Most enemies duck when there is a grenade nearby, I took that time to run up to him and when the shields were down, I emptied the clip of Invective on the Praetorian. Ammo would have regenerated for the next Praetorian. Conflux & Oracles: Anytime I was short of Scout Rifle ammo, Invective would help me clear out a small wave of Goblins. It was also one of the fastest ways to destroy Oracles: 1 or 2 shots at point blank and down it went. Templar Fight: anytime the Templar trapped me, I switched to Invective and emptied the clip, breaking the bubble in no time to shoot the Templar. Final room: keeping Venus/Mars open, I used the same Praetorian tactic, sometimes being able to defend a portal all by myself. Also, in the Hard version, when Atheon bubbles some people, I could also free myself in no time with Invective. In short, a stubby but reliable monster. With the PVE change I might just start using it again!

There are too many enemies for it to be really effective in the higher level activities because you take damage from all the ones whose face you haven't just disintegrated. Also theyre beyond useless for bosses. Prefer snipers myself.

由The Mannikin編輯: 2/11/2015 12:55:53 PMIt's too challenging is the short answer. Low mags, slow reload times, short range, none of those stack up to fit the diverse enemy waves like combos of snipers and suicide mobs. It's possible to run shotgun in pve with the right setups, but the vast majority of players don't have a setup that compliments that play style.

Because there are too many really good snipers. Efrideets Spear, Black Hammer, Icebreaker, all very very good. The shotguns are kind of meh in comparison. Plus, waaay too much risk outside of maybe Roc strikes and patrols.

由OldManJenkins編輯: 2/11/2015 12:47:56 PMThe only pve that my friends circle does is weekly nightfall and heroic and raiding. So, in may case, its pretty much suicide using close quarters when the enemy damage output is that high. Especially when light switch modifier is on!
