"Don't you have anything better to do? After all, you're 50!"
*shrug*
This usually comes from people who spend 10-20 hours a week watching television and can't/won't understand that different people enjoy different forms of entertainment.

I'm in my 30s. Guy at work tells me I'm too old to play video games. Then he goes on a fifteen minute diatribe about Batman vs. Superman lore, and then starts breaking down the intricacies of the Star Wars trailer. I just had to laugh. Some people don't see games as entertainment, then play games on their phone till their eyes bleed.

For me its "why do you spend all your extra money on games and alcohol?" To which I reply "I'm sorry did you mean me? Cause I'm pretty sure you spend just as much if not more on tv orders and blu ray movies..". My life just isn't an empty loop of mindless greed, mines more self indulgence of the highest order. Anyone not with that program -blam!- em.

Yes this is what I tell adults all the time. Both of my parents (when I lived at home) would get home and besides eating dinner would do nothing but stare at shitty television for hours until bedtime. I on the other hand would do homework, do some personal reading for entertainment and then play games till bedtime. So I'd say "nothing on tv appeals to me, that's what you do, to me video games are entertaining and that's what I chose to do with my spare time. To each their own."
Wow, you are one of the few late Boomers that actually like technology. Some of them are all like "Back in my day, we didn't have these here fancy shmancy electronic devices. Your generation is getting soft, sonny."
I just love it when caboose shows up on the forums.
