To point, a lot of us don't want anything to do with pvp in the first place. Yet, we're forced into it. You want people to stop bailing out of pvp matches? How about they fix the forced pvp in the first place. Note that all exotic bounties force players into pvp. Their is literally nothing to keep the player in the match once they've finished out their objective on it and the proper fix is not to give credit for it in the first place at the end of the match. If people don't want to be there, then don't make them.

I had an exotic bounty for thorn but I got rid of it. I royally dislike pvp and one of its requirements tells me I need to do like 500 points of void damage in pvp. It's 5 for a kill and 2 for a death. Yeeeaaaa no I'm not doing it and I think it's ridiculous that I have to do some I really hate and find to be a huge chore just for some weapon I can get from xur at some point.

Most agree on this one. I think that their is an alternative though. Guns like Red Death were apparently designed with pvp in mind. If we're talking about guns like those, fine. Attach a pvp requirement to them. If we're talking about guns that could be perceived as neutral or pve, then they shouldn't have a pvp attachment to them.

whatever god dam match making formula they have is BROKEN. had a 10 loss streak to start the week, with several of those i placed first. the issue? My teammates had complete lack of basic motor skills or intelligence (if you suffered a stroke/accident impairing your skills, i forgive you. if you didn't, I dont).
This also applies to anyone trying to preserve their k/d ratio over all as well. In the short bit of pvp I've done, I've been stuck with at least one team that I was one of the higher performers and I absolutely sucked. You stick someone who actually cares about it in and of course you're going to have issues.
Yep, I kind of hit on that issue too. Clearly match makeing is also broken among other pvp related systems as well.

Even if you are forced because say you have an exotic bounty that requires pvp, you still need to complete your requirements to get your exotic and not only that, say for example someone got their last kill for an exotic bounty, they dont need to leave. They could at least have the decency to stay for half a game longer without screwing their very own teammates over
-
You're still missing the point. That person doesn't want to be there. If they're their for purely their own reasons and don't wish to be there for the pvp experience at all, then they also don't have any reason to stay. The Thorn bounty is particularly guilty of being geared toward this behavior thanks to the negative experience modifier to the quest. It highly encourages getting a few cheap kills at the time and then bailing to save what you can on your progress. Rinse and repeat until you have it finished. As someone who doesn't want anything to do with pvp in the first place, I couldn't give a damned about the handicap imposed on the team for it. This also applies to anyone trying to preserve their k/d ratio over all as well. In the short bit of pvp I've done, I've been stuck with at least one team that I was one of the higher performers and I absolutely sucked. You stick someone who actually cares about it in and of course you're going to have issues.

1) im saying thwy should stay regardless if they have a reason or not. If you enter the crucible, I at least feel you have an obligation to stay for that one game you entered. 2) kd is a useless argument. Instead of simply leaving and thinking to yourself about whaf a shitty team you had, focus on your individual performance and go positive.
If you're on an exotic bounty or anything like that, it's not exactly by choice that you're there. Look all over the forums and you will see overwhelming calls to distance the exotic bounties from pvp. Again, forced to be there doesn't mean that we want to be there. We hold no obligation to the crucible.
2) kd is a useless argument. Instead of simply leaving and thinking to yourself about whaf a shitty team you had, focus on your individual performance and go positive.
And yet I see pvp people quote other's k/d ratio all the time on here. Clearly their are quite a few out there obsessed with the d*** measuring contest of k/d ratios.

1) I believe ones obligation to remain in a match is independent of whether they want to be there or not. I am fully aware that some bounties that force a player into the crucible and i do think its sad there is no pve equivalent (even though it doesnt affect me) but i still think even if you have an exotic bounty you benefit more in terms of progress for it by staying in a match. And if you finished then please just stay 5 more min is that too mucb to ask?

Obligatory Thorn bounty bitching here* If you're trying to get Thorn and you are stuck with a team that doesn't support you, you risk or even ensure higher negative exp to your advancement the longer you stay. The Thorn bounty also isn't the only one that you can get negative exp in ether. Literally every exotic bounty has a pvp requirement that forces a player into pvp regardless of want for it. By this, it makes the obligation as valid as if you were conscripted into a foreign military with a high fatality rate and saying that the individual who is unwillingly there has a duty to that country to perform.
-
No. The bounty goes exclusively by your performance actively. If you were to finish out the bounty in the middle of the match, you don't even have to finish the match. That's one of the issues that the pvp crowd is having with this. The same applies while you're actually working on it as well. If you were to pick up a void sniper and cheap snipe your way until they went rage rolling for you, their is no penalty for simply hiding and then jumping out of the match. It's for exactly these reasons why they need to ether remove the pvp requirement from it or remove the negative exp element from it.
-
It's still bullshit the amount of trouble I went through just to even get one of those exotic bounties. I had to get rid of mine cause it required me to complete a really stupid task on pvp and I didn't want to do it. It may not have "forced" me but it certainly made me waste a chance of a life time and now I can only depend on xur. The exotic bounties need to be fixed.
-
Yes, that's exactly the point. I did drop the bounty because of that. As such, I'm locked off from content that's supposed to be available to everyone who bought the game. To point, if you don't do pvp you're punished in the game. Pvp on the other hand, was not the very basis of the game. Every E3 conference was advertising story and pve with pvp as content in addition to the pve and not the basis for the entire game.
-
But you arent locked off from any content... get out of your comfort zone and poop on some gaurdians lol. Another way of saying what you're complaining about is that you cant get any money if you dont go to work so there should be another way to get money because you dont want to go to work. Pull up your pants and go to work or be poor.
-
Just dont do the bounty and you dont have to play PVP to complete it
You just shat on your own statement. Yes, we are locked off from content buried behind a pvp wall that we want nothing to do with.
Another way of saying what you're complaining about is that you cant get any money if you dont go to work so there should be another way to get money because you dont want to go to work.
This is exactly the opposite of the reason why many want nothing to do with pvp. The loot is generally worse than pve, the rng loot system that awards it is clearly busted and the community can see everyone cry about it, and their is no real sense of advancement to it ether. The IB even was supposed to be the event that you were supposed to be rewarded for the effort to, as you put it,
Pull up your pants and go to work
and that was proven to be broken all to hell with low level people still running around wrecking level 30 characters in full raid gear. To bother being worth the effort, first it has to offer compensation worth the time.

PvP isnt meant for loot its for fun. This game was sold to me as you build a character in single player and bring it into MP. As for time and compensation your exotic weapon that you get from the easy bounty is the reward. I completed the void damage for my thorn in 5-6 games, its not difficult.
