Ways to stay awake?
So, in high school, I had some issues staying awake in class following sophomore year. I would be paying attention in class, then I'd wake up, realizing I had fallen asleep.
I figured I'd grow out of it, but it hasn't gone away.
Just so you know, I am not narcoleptic, and I stay awake normally. Just in some classes in college now, I'm missing some material. Not much now, but I hate that I'm falling asleep and could possibly miss some very important information.
So, any advice on how to stay awake that doesn't involve caffeine?

1 回覆You're normally pretty active aren't you? Its mostly the sedentary way you have to sit in class coupled with the cool temp from the a/c. If you find yourself dozing start moving: chew gum tap your fingers on your legs, tap your feet, roll your pen, or even get up and walk around a bit. Try wearing a shirt that's a size too small under your normal one or something.

Ok here's a good tip, if your getting tired in class get a piece of paper and just start drawing stuff, it will distract you from sleeping. I swear I never draw and suck at it but by the end of this year I'll be a fùcking artist.

1 回覆I dont know about staying awake, but until you find a way, may i suggest using a dictaphone in classes? Record the class, that way if you do fall asleep you can just replay the class later at your own, um, pleasure?

1 回覆Well, there's the obvious "Get enough sleep the night before." But otherwise just make sure you're sitting straight up in your chair, not slouching, and try to keep your attention fully and firmly on the instructor.

Follow this rule in the video if you're short on time for sleeping. Also, go outside and move around in the sun before you go to class. It helps a ton, I'm not kidding. Bring a water bottle too, drinking it will keep you awake.

3 回覆Stand up. Drink water. Eat food. Think sexy thoughts. Write down what the lecturer is saying. If you just sit and stare you hypnotise yourself and you will fall asleep.
