Now you're probably thinking, "thump you're an idiot, K/D doesn't mean anything! It's a stupid number!" Well, you're right and wrong. You're right in the fact that it is just a number in some game. But you're wrong in the fact that it determines you're average kills for every death.
Why is that important? It's important because if I'm playing TDM and my teammates can't maintain a 2.0 or higher it means they generally die more often where as they should be getting kills. If you play a game that focuses on KILLING EACH OTHER and you have more deaths than kills, or a very close amount than you are very obviously terrible.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm no shining star or example for what a good K/D is at only 2.04. I do know for a fact that I'm better at a team deathmatch game type, rather than a control because I'm better at killing and prefer not to die rather than worthless objectives.
I get more kills per life and less deaths because I know what I'm doing and I'm decently good at the game. The people who defend themselves by saying it doesn't matter are just trying to hide their poor ability to perform at a higher level. I'm not saying we all need to be MLG players who do nothing but get perfections. If you can't get a 1.9 or higher K/D in a game mode such as TeamDeathmatch that please stop, you're awful and no one who wants to win needs you on the team. Go play Control and capture your objectives, even though that game mode focuses on kills too.

Sorry mate, you don't own this space and if I want to play that game mode because I enjoy it or want the bounty then I will. If you don't like it then rage quit. I will try my best. I will have fun and be relaxed. I don't swear when I die, even by shotgun whore. I don't know if it was your intention but you come across as a self entitled elitist jerk. Your entire argument is just a better wired version of "get better or get wrecked, scrub". I hate to make assumptions but it sounds like you take this a bit to seriously. My recommendation? Relax, support other players. Lead by example. Sometimes when I see a good player and can work out what they are doing I emulate that behaviour. TLDR Chill out, be positive and realise that you have no say in how others play the game, even if it is 'badly'.

4 回覆If everyone was as good as each other, everybody's K/D would be around the 1.00 mark. Including yours. You only think you're good because there's enough crap players playing to pad out your K/D.
-
Not everyone can have a good K/D ratio your K/D depends on your performance as well as the opposing team there are normally people on each side that get a positive ratio but if everyone had a positive ratio and a 2 as you are demanding than explain how that is possible without boosting or completely annihilating the enemy team then what's the fun in that. PvP is suppose to be competitive and fun you you demolish a team in 2 minutes what's the fun in that doing that will get boring quickly I like games where it is close and maybe a few people go positive and one or 2 have this 2 plus K/D
-
That's funny. I like your arbitrary 1.9 K/D. How about we say you need to l2p if your K/D is less than 2.5. Hell lets just say you are a scrub if your K/D is less than 2.1. I would have thought that seeing as you leave all that Capturing nonsense to others, you might have had a better K/D.

While I sympathize with your position, I'd also like to point out it isn't the players themselves you should be having issues with. Bungie all but forces people into PvP if they want to complete Exotic Bounties. I would expect there to be fewer PvE players trying to do PvP activities if the Exotic Bounties didn't have the PvP requirement. I, personally, have thrown away three of the four Exotic Bounties I have gotten because of the PvP element, but a lot of people will slog through PvP, no matter how bad they are at it and no matter how much they don't like it, to try and complete the Bounty for the Exotic Weapon reward. If Bungie had offered both PvP and PvE tracks to complete each part of the bounty, this might cut back on your problem.

2 回覆I play control almost exclusively. I take lots of points, and die a shit ton. Many teammates refuse to help capture because they're too likely to get killed and thus negatively affect their k/d. A high k/d could therefore be used to also weed out people you don't want on your team.

由ScottGallifrey編輯: 10/4/2014 12:40:53 AMSo what you're saying is..
Anyone who's as bad at PvP as you are should stop playing it?
I don't claim to do well in PvP, I know I suck. With an average of one kill per two deaths (.50 K/D), who couldn't know they're bad at it? But I still enjoy playing it sometimes. Sorry if you elitist 2.0 K/D types (<--sarcasm) get angry when I'm just having a good time.

2 回覆Actually K/D doesn't mean squat in this game, minus bragging right (which no one really cares about). You can go 45-0 and the worst player on your team still has the same shot at getting rewards at the end of the match, which is really what most people are gunning for.

2 回覆Just no. I'm fairly new to Destiny PVP so it's only natural that I'll start off maybe not so great. Maybe I won't get a K/D ratio of 2.0 every game but I know with every game I will get better. If I was to go by your logic I shouldn't have dared attempt the Crucible (me and many other players). What every team needs is a leader (something you clearly are not), someone that pulls the team through those bad patches or can step up to adversity. Most importantly can be gracious in defeat and still say 'good game'. I may be jumping to conclusions but these qualities may elude you.

5 回覆I agree and disagree. Person who camps out with a shotgun and going 5 and 0 consistently will have a high kd but someone who has 10 caps and went 15 and 18 did better. I would prefer the second

It means nothing in Destiny. The fact that you have bounties set to use specific weapons during matches is pretty off setting. Some players can do very well with void shotguns/Fusion rifles/Snipers and not break a sweat. On top of that there are Supers that seem to be activated in a panic (hulk smash) that just clears out the area without much thought of movement or aiming. There is no Ranking system, and I have no idea if they are even using Truskill behind the scenes or not. Damage is averaged for all players no matter what their gun, but fast firing with high stability guns seem to be the top of the boards when it comes to killing players. So not everyone is on equal footing as they were in Halo games.

You start by saying k/d matters then ramble on proving nothing. Regardless of your k/d you still only get 2-3 crucible marks and and loot is still random. I'm sure the majority of ppl are in the crucible trying to complete a bounty where again k/d doesn't matter
