A friend got this unlock and had a similar experience, no additional reward from completing patrol missions - we were expecting additional planetary materials. Did you complete any pve bounties since unlocking it?

can confirm this is bugged, currently on the 6000 overall kills for bonus materials when gathering and still gathering materials 1 at a time.

That's a different reward, that one does work, I get 1-2 from material nodes. It's the vip reward I'm wondering about.
