How cool would it be to have a sword like the sword of crota as a heavy/special weapon? Thoughts or suggestions if this would be good or not.
This sword would have to be balanced and have less power than the sword of crota.
The sword migh have to be an exotic weapon but hey I would work my ass off to get it.

Yeah I've commented on this numerous times. Bump. Plenty of options for creative execution here. Is like to see class specific weapons: Titans: giant 2 handed mauls. Maybe when "charged" they do splash damage or slow enemies movement (or blind or any other status effect) Warlocks: sickle maybe? Or sword like Glamdring? Warlocks have that awesome Death vibe so in thinking sickles. Causes a darkness effect to enemies... I'm still working this idea over. Hunters: well, they already have knives. Gotta work that idea too. This idea would require a complete overhaul of the games mechanics. Doubt it will ever leave this thread, but awesome to day dream none the less. Sword of Crota my favorite mission, and I'm the dedicated relic holder for Aetheon, so I'm happy smashing stuff and sky bombing for now. Never gets old.

I wouldn't mind seeing this but balance would be an issue. Likely I would expect to see the weapon be a little stronger than melee skills but shouldn't be a 1 shot kill in pvp. Probably take a special weapon slot and need some means to limit use, something like limiting number of swings to a "charge" counter that recharges over time (similar to icebreaker). Melee attack speed on gear should effect swing speed. Definitely be an exotic weapon.

由aboniks編輯: 10/27/2014 2:43:25 AMAs long as they're not required for anything I totally support this.
Personally, I thought melee mechanics of the Sword of Crota mission were awful, although it was nice to see a little creativity even if I didn't like the way the idea was implemented. Just me. I know a lot of people loved it.
Maybe it could be like a laser sword that takes energy charges. But then you would rarely be able to use it...

How about it takes some health? The ghost DID say that it's super infested with darkness, and should be used with caution. Plus, at least on hard, the knights could still get pretty close to killing me, so I don't see why the sword can't be as strong as the SoC against intelligent humans with better power diversity.

I'm in agreement. I'm actually surprised there is no form of sword in PvE or PvP taking into account melee weapon popularity in Halo. Would be a ton of fun. Perhaps make it an energy weapon so that you have to pick up ammo to charge it.
