My question has been asked in the title: for those who are male and in the United States, at what age did you know that you still had to submit your name to the Draft system? How did you feel about involuntarily signing up for conscription that had caused a serious problem back in the 1960's to 1975? Free discussion concerning the existence of the SSS, and its continued existence after the Vietnam War is encouraged.
(Author's notes: I am an aged 19 Canadian lad, and I only learned of the continued existence of the draft this night)

[/quote] You do know that many countries do this, some even require military service (which can be opt out of in replacement of increased taxes, and long periods of community service).
