Perhaps making a confederacy or conglomerate of clans, united under one website to organize how they please...good thoughts, good vibes...

Maybe we're thinking about this all wrong :) Perhaps instead of "groups of clans" what we actually need here is sub-groups within a clan? Clan offices would then be able to move recruits into the relevant group/squad/regiment :) Will need to work on the core features for the next few weeks. But will definitely keep this in mind as a future tool :)

So they might be small or large in numbers, but they'll all make up the united confederacy of clans, and they keep their names as well. However, in addition to their own actions and names, they'll have a regiment or platoon number as well, adding to the diversity of the website community as a whole. For instance, "(clan name)" , 7th platoon, armor/cavalry/infantry And so on... It would make it even more immersive if nearly all Destiny clans reported and registered with this site, giving meaning to every Guardian's role and purpose in the city.
