I have several suits in the $1000 area. Normal clothes though? Most of my jeans are around $80-100, shoes about the same, aside from my various Converse shoes.
Do accessories count? Several pairs of Oakley sunglasses, a few decent watches..

The ability to be noticed by the opposite sex and have them respond. Cheap jeans = Cheap date to most women folk. Expensive jeans = Cares how he looks = good date = will give him sexy time. That's how these things work.
